After spending over 30 years in the medical device industry, I made the decision to pivot into Estate Planning—a move sparked by a simple after-dinner conversation with friends.

Around the table that evening sat 12 people. Shockingly, only two had written a Will. Most of us had thought about it, but few had taken the necessary steps. Sadly, a couple of my friends had recently lost parents who died without a Will (intestate), leading to unnecessary complications during an already difficult time. It was clear that these issues were avoidable—with the right planning and guidance.

With time on my hands, I began researching Will Writing and Estate Planning. Through the support of the Institute of Professional Willwriters (IPW), I learned that over 27 million adults in the UK don’t have a Will. Even more alarming was discovering that HMRC collects over £5 billion annually in Inheritance Tax—much of which could be legally reduced or avoided through proper planning.

Now, more than five years since working with my first client, I’ve completed over 600 hours of training.
